Sefton Park, Liverpool, will be brimful of lanterns, magic and mysterious sightings on the last Sunday of October, as the Lantern Company, together with many partners once again light up the park with the enchanting Halloween Lantern Carnival.
Hundreds of local people from all over Liverpool will carry their hand-made lanterns in the annual Lantern Parade at the heart of Carnival, in a dazzling display of creativity and community spirit.
You can also expect to see the giant floating Dreamer as she falls asleep, and take a peek at the dreams inside her sleeping head, courtesy of  Delirium Lumens, French masters of the surreal, whose astonishing live projections create huge vividly coloured landscapes of  imaginary luminous beings.
For those of an adventurous nature, you can wander through the park, where you’ll discover still more extraordinary dreamscapes, talking stags, dancing wolves and Things that go Bump in the Night, as they light up along the route. If you feel sleepy, you can even slip into bed yourself and have your own dreams or nightmares revealed!
A field of floating fire will light up the lake, created by And Now: the brand new fire collective forged from The World Famous firework company. Huge illuminated megaliths, a gaggle of gamblers, dream doctors, diviners and fortune tellers will set your head spinning and make this unforgettable night a glorious feast for the senses.

Throughout October, the Lantern Company are running workshops at venues all over the city, where you can make your own lantern and take part in the lantern parade.

This year there will be 2 parades: The first at 5.30pm for those with younger children, and a later parade at 7.30pm for everyone. The parades finish on the field above the boating lake, where there will be a main show as each of the parades reach the field. The main show repeats twice and will start at approximately 6.15pm and 8.15pm respectively, and features red hot live music from The Baghdaddies.
