We are seeking funds for our flagship event, which has established itself as one of the highlights of Liverpool’s cultural events calendar over the last 11 years. We have just three months to raise money for the new Lantern Carnival in February next year. Like our traditional Halloween event, it will bring the community together in an uplifting creative celebration.

We hope to create a new model for the Lantern Carnival for future years and are planning a three day festival of light during the Spring February half term 2016.

The event will be a culmination of lantern art work created by community groups and young people, alongside giant puppets, lanterns and other amazing creations of our professional artist team as part of a stunning theatrical event that includes hundreds of performers in a spectacular site-specific event. We are also relocating to a new  location in Liverpool – the beautiful  Festival Gardens site near Otters Pool park, Liverpool.

The grounds of the park will be transformed into an extraordinary and strange land, where what is usually hidden beneath the lake beds and woodland floors creep, crawl and belch up to the surface to astonish, challenge, delight and even horrify our audiences. The event will be open for four hours each night, and audiences will be free to roam the route at their own pace, where they will witness strange yet beautiful sights and encounter thought-provoking theatrical interactions.

We are trying  lots of different ways to raise the additional funds needed to benefit all aspects of the project, ranging from the community workshops to stewarding of the event.
Please join us in helping to make the new event happen – we have fantastic plans that we know will create a wonderful Lantern Festival for everyone to enjoy!
