We are working in partnership with Wirral Creative Youth Development team on a great project in and around the newly renovated Old Priory in Birkenhead.

PRIORY TALES has been specially created for the Birkenhead Priory to celebrate over 800 years of its existence and will be performed at the site on the 9th and 10th April 2015.

Priory Tales explores the history of Birkenhead’s magnificent landmark as seen through the eyes of the young people involved in the project. Their creative interpretations are expressed through dance, drama, music, film and photography throughout the show.

And, of course, an intriguingly populated  Lantern Parade which includes Giant and mini Monks, magic keys and illuminated manuscripts amongst many others, echoing the many facets of the early monk’s way of life at the Priory.

Over 200 young people have been involved in creating this mixed media production inspired by the Priory’s ancient history and as it stands today. Join us for a festival of live entertainment that will take you on a magical journey around the Priory’s remarkable architecture.
