A real highlight of our year is making nature-themed lanterns for The Night Garden at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Cornwall. This year’s event promises to be more stunning than ever and the new commissions are coming on apace. We’ve delved into botanical collections as well as insect, bird and mammal species that have a particular resonance with Heligan Gardens. The extensive research and creative process always provides a fascinating challenge, especially as we figure out how to transpose micro to macro and wings, scales and fur into sculpted form, light and colour. A lovely array of our other lantern creatures will be inhabiting the trail, reflecting the wealth of wildlife that inhabits the Heligan estate… This year’s event is a perfect Winter adventure for absolutely everyone!
