An absolute highlight of our creative year is making nature-themed lanterns for the enchanting Night Garden at the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall. This year’s commissions were especially thrilling, allowing us to delve into insect and creatures research for species that have a particular resonance with Heligan Gardens. The creative process is always a fun challenge as we translate micro to macro, scales and fur to sculpted form, light and paint. New lanterns such as the Glow worms and Garden Spider were a joy to design and make, as were additions to a growing family of foxes and roe deer! We have an array of other lantern favourites inhabiting the trail, reflecting the wealth of wildlife that inhabits the Heligan estate… This year’s event is a total stunner, and alive with magic and hot treats – winter’s perfect adventure for absolutely everyone!
