February 2019 (21-24), the Lantern Company created a spectacular floating city of lanterns, inhabited by music and poetry through collaborators Writing on the Wall. Also, ‘Habitats’, an illuminated animal story trail in Sefton Park Palmhouse grounds.
Brought to life by an epic soundscape of original music, poetry and real peoples’ stories, the City of Sanctuary brought communities, international artists and generations together through a breath-taking blend of community creativity, architectural artworks and family participation.
Using the simplest materials of paper, sticks and stories, City of Light was a public space for reflection on local and global experiences of migration, home and belonging
